英文 "mile" 音譯。以前英制時期以英里做單位，所以喺揸車嘅時候會用「咪」嚟做車速嘅量詞。而家嘅車同路牌已經改晒用公里做單位，但因為習慣咗，所以大家口頭上繼續用「咪」嚟形容車速。而家揸車嘅人所講嘅「咪」係指公里。
